We all know who Babur was and how he invaded India. Well, Baba Ramdev is the New Babur of our era who has invaded India with his household products. Patanjali is not a new word to any one of us. Even children know what Patanjali is? Patanjali has emerged as a brand new Dynasty for Indians and has reached every corner of the house be it Kitchen products, bathroom products, health and beauty consoles. Patanjali is India’s most trusted Fast Moving Consumer Goods brand founded by Yoga Guru Baba Ramdev along with Acharya Balakrishna in 2006.
After making a successful foray in Consumer Goods Market, Patanjali has crawled its way into Telecom sector. Forget Walk and Talk, we have new Network Service Provider in the market. The NSP goes by the name “Swadeshi Samriddhi “. Baba Ramdev has launched the sim card on 27th May 2018 in alliance with BSNL. Currently, this sim card will be available only to Patanjali employees like Bharat Swabhiman Nyas, Patanjali Yog Samiti, Mahila Prakosath, Yuva Bharat, Patanjali Kisan Seva, and Swadeshi Samrudhi Card Holder. There are 3 plans available under the Patanjali and BSNL Partnership- Rs.144, Rs.792, Rs.1584.
It is believed that the sim cards will be made available to the public in next few months. The customers just need to recharge the sim card with Rs. 144. This will get customers benefits of 2 GB of 4G data, unlimited calling and 100 SMSes with 30 days validity. This card doesn’t come only as a sim card; it comes as a major jackpot for the users. After the full-fledged launch, users can avail 10% discount on Patanjali Products. This card also comes up with Life, Health and Medical Insurances. The card covers Rs.2.5 Lakhs for Medical and Rs.5 Lakhs for Life Insurance. However, the covers could only be available to users in case of Road Accident. There are around 5 lakhs BSNL counters in India and users can purchase the sim from any of these.
Talking about the motive behind this step, Baba Ramdev told “prosperity for charity”. He stated the key idea behind the release of this card in alliance with Government-owned BSNL is to put a “Swadesi Network”.BSNL has even stated that Patanjali Plan is their best plan till date. Customers need to submit their ID proofs to get the Sims.
Baba Ramdev has announced to have revenue of 20000 Crores, in the Year 2018. Till now we were sure that Patanjali products which we were using were 100% Ayurvedic and natural without any side effects. In today’s world where everyone is fed up of the network problems they face because of the various NSPs, it will be quite unpredictable to guess what Swadeshi Samriddhi will bring into the market for its customers and how far it will meet its customer’s expectations.
The question again lies on “Will Swadeshi Samriddhi be able to provide a proper network to customers?” which is the main motive behind the launch of any NSP.
