Kate Spade was a designer who created an accessories empire and whose handbags are considered to be the status symbol and token of sophistication. Kate Spade aged 55 was found dead on Tuesday in her Apartment in New York City which per Police Report is a case of suicide. The news of her demise came as a shock to the entire world. Her body was found hanging in her Park Avenue Apartment by the housekeeper at around 10:20 am EST.
In 1990s she made a brand for clothes and accessories and became one of the first wave of American women contemporary designers. She played an important role in the American women fashion.There is a lot of talks going on these days about Gender Inequality in every sector. Kate Spade simply represented herself as critical figure in the continuum of women. She decided to name her company on the names of all the co-founders to reserve the right of equality. Kate Spade is known to be a woman who carried other women to adulthood.
She joined Manhattan’s Mademoiselle Magazine in the 1980s and then left the job to start her handbag line of business with her husband Andy Spade. She received the best accessory designer of the year in 1998 and America’s new Fashion Talent in Accessories in 1996 by the Council of Fashion Designers of America.Spade left her name’s brand in 2006 and later she launched another brand Frances Valentine in 2016. Named after her daughter.
